News From The Bars Farm

2012 again saw many new improvements all over the farm, along with many new customers and our faithful customers of many years.

With the interest in our hot peppers growing and now with the association with two Boston based companies, we again will be expanding in this area, along with the continued production of our Eggplant, Tomatoes, Bell Peppers, Melons, Watermelons and more!

The new farm stand is almost finished making the sales area more customer friendly and functional. While still keeping the country farm stand feel.

A new washing and packing area for our vegetable production has been updated, along with an updated irrigation system to better serve our needs in vegetable management and food safety.

We are very much involved in Integrated Pest Management (IPM). With Allison and our farm, now being an involved member of the state IPM committee since 2011, we are looking forward to working closely with other farms and teaching the community more about this practice. (put link to IPM here)

We believe in helping out the community and so donate all unused produce to local charities . Our donations for 2012 exceeded 2,500lbs of food!

Please stop by our farmstand and see our fields in production while enjoying the large selection of fresh produce and flowers that we pride ourselves in growing and selling here. We wish to thank everyone for a successful 2012 season and for supporting us and the local economy.
